Arabia is a peninsula located in Western Asia, and consists of the countries Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The peninsula is bordered by the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Omen, as well as the Arabian sea and the Indian Ocean. The peninsula was created anywhere between 23 to 56 million years ago due to the Red Sea rifting. Politically, all states located within Arabia are known to be very similar, with all countries previously being or currently being a monarchy in some form.

The total population of Arabia is 86,221,765. The land is known to have a very high population rate, as well as very high birth rates. The top ten most populated cities of Arabia are Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Kuwait City, Sanaa, Mecca, Sharjah, Muscat, Medina, and Abu Dhabi. Did you know that Arabia has one of the most uneven sex ratios in the world, with women making up roughly a quarter of the population in some regions? The Arabian peninsula is home to the largest oil reserves in the world. In fact, the extraction of oils and natural gasses are the peninsula’s main source of income. A majority of the industries within the peninsula purely exist to serve the oil industry, such as financial and technical institutions. Along with this, the peninsula is home to a large architectural sector, which can be shown through the numerous large and luxurious buildings that can be found throughout the land.

Arabia has a very rich history when it comes to Islam. It all started around the 7th century when a rise in the religion occurred, as Muhammad, the Islamic prophet, was born in 570 in the city of Mecca. It was not until 610 when Muhammad would preach to the city. In 622, Muhammad would migrate to Medina. To this day, Medina and Mecca remain the most important places to Islam. One of the five pillars of Islam requires that every able-bodied Muslim who is able to afford to do so must make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life. When this pilgrimage takes place, the population of Mecca nearly doubles.

The climate of Arabia is known to be very hot and dry. Matter of fact, there are very few lakes or rivers located within Arabia, with the exceptions of occasional monsoons occurring on the coasts of the state. There are numerous mountains found within Arabia, including the Hajar range, the Dhofar mountains, the Yemeni hadhramaut, and the Shammar mountains. Being a peninsula, Arabia is surrounded by water, thus having a large population of sea coral and coral reefs. The coral found in the Red Sea is able to adapt to the hot, dry conditions. Because of this, the coral has yet to be affected by any form of coral bleaching due to a rise in temperature. The reefs have also been unaffected by tourism or any human interference. However, oil pollution and an increase of algae growth has been a cause of killing off coral.
