Discover the natural beauty of America’s waterways and shorelines with our Coastal, Lakes & River maps collection. This diverse and visually striking series features vintage maps that highlight the unique geography of coastlines, major lakes, rivers, bays, islands, and other prominent bodies of water throughout the United States. These maps are perfect for anyone who feels a connection to the water—whether it’s a favorite beach town, a scenic lake, or a historic riverfront community.
Each map in this collection is a restored reproduction of an original piece, often created for navigation, tourism, or government records during the 19th and 20th centuries. They capture the winding shapes of major rivers like the Mississippi, the contours of lakes such as the Great Lakes and Lake Tahoe, and the dramatic coastlines of regions like New England, the Gulf Coast, and the Pacific Northwest. You’ll also find maps of barrier islands, bays, harbors, and inland waterways—many of which no longer appear the same today due to decades of natural change and development.
These vintage waterway maps are filled with character and history. Some showcase nautical elements, including depth markings, shipping lanes, and compass roses, while others offer beautifully illustrated depictions of surrounding towns, ports, or natural landmarks. Whether you’re drawn to coastal New England, the Great Lakes region, the rivers of the Deep South, or the islands along the West Coast, there’s a piece in this collection that speaks to the enduring relationship between people and water.
Ideal for decorating beach houses, lake cabins, coastal homes, or any space that could use a touch of tranquil, natural charm, these maps add both style and substance. They’re also popular gifts for boaters, fishermen, history buffs, and anyone with fond memories tied to a particular shoreline or waterway.
Printed on museum-quality paper using high-resolution scans, each map is available as an unframed print, framed artwork, or gallery-style canvas. Every piece is crafted to preserve the original map’s detail while offering a timeless aesthetic that fits beautifully into modern or traditional interiors.
Browse our Coastal, Lakes & River maps collection today and discover artwork that reflects the natural beauty and historic charm of America’s waterways. These vintage pieces are a perfect way to bring a bit of the shoreline—or your favorite lake or river—into your home.
